Logo Packs

Original Broadway show logos can provide instant recognition of a show’s title, and we know it can be pretty hard to advertize and promote your show without them. Until recently, copyright law forbade the use of these original designs, but now, by special arrangement with the logos’ creators, HLA is proud to offer full Logo Packages for selected MTI shows (for promotional use only - sorry, merchandise use is still not permitted). Each Logo Pack includes a black-and-white camera-ready slick, a colour slide, and a computer disk with digital format files, which can be used for flyers, posters, programmes, and commercials (in some cases, the colour slide is replaced with a colour slick).

Productions Slides

Created by some of Broadway’s top scenic and projection designers, these slides help create just the right setting for your production, whether you’re producing a fully staged version or presenting a concert performance. Production Slides can be used in a variety of ways: as an additional scenic element, adding a “multi-media” feel to your production, as a replacement for cumbersome scenery, as a guide (almost like “painting-by-numbers”) for backdrop or scrim designs, or in a combination of all of the above. The uses of Production Slides are only limited by the imagination of your production team!

Reference recordings

The one thing that sets musical theatre apart from all other kinds of theatre is...music. And there’s no better way to get a feeling about a show than to listening to a recording. Unfortunately, not every show gets recorded, and if a show has been recorded, often it goes “out of print” or is difficult to find in a local record store. Hal Leonard Australia has built an MTI and Josef Weinberger catalogue of Reference Recordings equal to none for the shows in our catalogue. These are available for a four-week perusal period with a perusal pack, for an additional shipping and handling fee of

RehearScore CD-ROM

RehearScore is a computerized rehearsal pianist/musical director’s aide for Macintosh and PC/Windows computers. Each RehearScore is a complete rendition of the piano/conductor's score on a computer disk, recorded and programmed by a top Broadway pianist and, whenever possible, edited by the composer.

The RehearScore includes the entire piano/conductor's score with the piano part, any orchestral cues, and each vocal line on its own track. It allows you to change the tempo, start the song at any given point during the number, transpose the key up or down in semitone increments, isolate or increase the volume of any particular vocal line, and remove any particular vocal line. Every musical number, from “Overture” to “Exit Music,” including scene changes, dance music, and underscoring, is recorded in its entirety.

MTI Study Guides were created for educational use, but are equally valuable as informative production aides. Each Study Guide includes a plot synopsis, discusses historical perspective, and provides topics for discussion, research projects, and essays. Full Reference Scores

Your Music Director wants the “BIG PICTURE” — Now they can have it! Did you ever wish you could see the entire orchestration on one page? The Full Score includes every note of the entire orchestration and includes all markings and cues found in the vocal score. It's perfect for conducting the show, orchestra rehearsals, and score study. Available for selected operas and classical compositions, Full Reference Scores for musical theatre works are not as commonplace, usually replaced in the pit by either a Piano-Conductor score or a Piano-Vocal Score. With the advent of computer music engraving, Full Reference Scores are now being generated as a natural part of the orchestration process. Transposition on Demand

It happens from time to time: you cast the right actor for the role, but the right actor has the wrong vocal range for the character’s songs. So you decide to transpose the song to a suitable key. That’s a lot of work. And can be very expensive! You can now get almost any song from certain shows in virtually any key, printed in state-of–the art, easy to read typeset.
